How to reach your accomodation on the Island of Spetses

Athens International Airport is about 20 km (by road 30 km) to the east of central Athens.

From Athens International Airport to Piraeus Port (1-2 hrs):

Suburban railway 1 hr.  The suburban railway line A1 connects Athens International Airport directly with Piraeus Port, and trains depart approximately every hour. The railway station is right next to the metro station. It is accessible from the terminal via a pedestrian bridge – follow the signs “To Trains”. Tickets are available at the airport station ticket booths or from ticket machines. Get off at the train terminal at Piraeus.

Metro/subway 1-1.5 hrs. Take Line 3 (Blue line direct connection) or change at Monastraki Station to Line 1 towards Piraeus. Metro runs every 36 mimutes. It is accessible from the terminal via a pedestrian bridge – follow the signs “To Trains”. Tickets are available at the airport station ticket booths or from ticket machines. Single 90-minute ticket costs approx. 9 €.

Bus: 1.5-2 hrs, depending on traffic. The X96 Airport Express bus leaves directly outside of the arrivals area between exit 4 and 5; it runs every 30 minutes, 24/7. Get off at the stop "ΠΛ.ΚΑΡΑΙΣΚΑΚΗ" (Karaiskaki Square). Walk towards the sea and enter through a large iron gate to reach the harbour area. Fare is approx. 6 €

Taxi: 1-1.5 hrs, depending on traffic. There are taxis outside the arrivals level of the airport. Typical rate is 50-60 €.

From Port of Piraeus to Spetses Island (2-3 hrs):

Ferry boat 2-3 hrs. You can find useful information and book your ticket at e.g. ferry scanner. The boats are operated by Hellenic Seaways, Alpha Lines or Magic Sea Ferries. There are 4-5 daily sailing from Piraeus to Spetses. Normally, the vessels depart from Gate 8 (may vary by operator). One-way fare is approx. 50 €.

From Spetses Harbour to your accomodation/conference site (15-20 min): 

Spetses is largely car-free. You can reach your accomodation (Spetses Hotel, AKSS) by foot (15-20 min walk along the water front), bus, water taxi, taxi, or horse-drawn carriage.
